Munich City Stay
Munich, the capital of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, lies on the River Isar on the fringes of the Bavarian Alps. Munich is a fun-loving city, known for its seasonal festivals and rich cultural calendar, so along with visiting the beautiful churches and outstanding museums and palaces, you should spend some time enjoying life with the locals at a festival, or at the colorful market.
Spend time at the Marienplatz, Munich’s central with sights such as the New City Hall, Old Town Hall, Mariensäule, Fischbrunnen and the famous Glockenspiel on the front of he New Town Hall. A must place to see is the the Vitualienmarkt – one of he top sights in the center of Munich. Over the years, the market has evolved from just a farmer’s market to a popular market for fresh food and delicacies. There are 140 stalls and shops offering fresh food and drinks, flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables, venison and chicken, spices, wine and more. Above the market stands a colorful maypole, with traditionally dressed figures representing the various crafts and trades that were practiced in this part of town.
What to see outside of the city centre: The English Garden, Nymphenburg Palace, Munich Residenz, Olympic Park, BMW Museum, Tierpark Hellabrunn, Deutsches Museum, Frauenkirche (Cathedral Church of Our Lady) and more.
Not to be missed is a visit to the most famous beer hall in the world – „The Hofbräuhaus am Platzl“, originally built in 1589 by Bavarian Duke Maximilian I!





Munich Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest, annual festival in Munich held over a two-week period and ending on the first sunday in October. The festival originated on October 12, 1810! With over six million guests a year, the Oktoberfest is the largest public festival in the world. No wonder: The Oktoberfest celebrates Bavarian tradition with delicious food, Munich beer and countless rides and attractions on the festival grounds and in the tents.
Experience highlights such as the Grand entry of the Oktoberfest landlords and breweries, the ceremonial opening of the beer tapping or the traditional costume parade on the first Sunday of Oktoberfest. In addition, the whole world comes together to celebrate in a total of 17 large and 21 small festival tents.
